In early December, Abdulgaziev underwent an MRI examination. Doctors also took tests for tumor markers, which initially showed negative results, i.e., no malignant cells. However, as Alie Kurtametova emphasized, without the conclusions of relevant specialists, these data could not be considered final. At that point, the only thing that was known for certain was that there were focal changes in the brain, which are glioblastoma.
Only after Abdulgaziev was examined by a neurosurgeon and a team of doctors concluded that the tumor was malignant.
“As they explained to me, part of the tumor protrudes slightly. It is this part that they plan to remove during the operation. At the same time, the doctors do not give any chance of a full recovery,” – Alie Kurtametova emphasized.
We remind you that Tofik Abdulgaziev was detained in occupied Crimea on March 27, 2019. He was accused of participating in the organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir,” and on May 12, 2022, in Rostov-on-Don, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Abdulgaziev to 12 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony, the first 5 years of which will be spent in prison, followed by a year of restricted freedom after release.
