Crimean political prisoner Ruslan Abdurakhmanov acquired psoriasis in Russian captivity and is in a solitary confinement

February 17, 2025
The Crimean political prisoner Ruslan Abdurakhmanov has acquired psoriasis all over his body, accompanied by severe itching, and the left side of his body is numb. This was reported to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center by his wife, Feride Abdurakhmanova.
‘Now he has psoriasis all over his body and severe itching, as well as numbness on the left side of his body,’ – she said.
In addition, Feride said that Ruslan was placed in a punishment cell. According to her, the treatment provided does not bring significant relief.
In September 2024, Feride Abdurakhmanova informed the Crimean Tatar Resource Center about her husband’s serious health problems. She noted that before the invasion, he needed surgery to remove three hernias in his cervical spine and suffered from neuralgia, which caused 40% of his blood to be blocked from reaching his brain.
This case is yet another indication that the occupation ‘authorities’ systematically turn healthy people into disabled, harming not only their moral but also their physical condition.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Centre demands the immediate release of political prisoner Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, provision of necessary medical care and calls on the public to join in raising awareness of his case.
We would like to remind you that Abdurakhmanov was abducted on 18 April at around 12 noon. Armed men wearing ‘DPR’ stripes and Russian flags broke into his house in the village of Azovske. He was taken to the vocational school No. 17 in Henichesk, where other detainees were held. There, the man was interrogated with the use of torture.
On September 2 , the Kyiv District ‘court’ of occupied Simferopol illegally sentenced Ruslan Abdurakhmanov to 5 years in a strict regime colony. Currently, the political prisoner is being held in the OLF of MCI-7 of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in the Tambov region.
