Illegally sentenced to 12 years in prison, Crimean political prisoner Izzet Abdullaev has reported severe toothache and the development of hypertension against a background of cardiac arrhythmia. His wife, Guzel Abdullaeva, informed Crimean Solidarity about this.

She noted that medical care in correctional colony No. 2 in the city of Salavat (Republic of Bashkortostan) is provided “superficially.”

“They can give pills, but mostly [prisoners] receive medication from relatives,” said the political prisoner’s wife.

According to Guzel Abdullaeva, apart from problems with blood pressure, heart, and teeth, her husband’s general health is “satisfactory,” and she described the guards’ attitude toward Izzet as “normal.” The man gets in touch “periodically” and “regularly” receives letters.
