Enver Khalilayev, a Crimean political prisoner involved in the fabricated “third Dzhankoy group case” by the occupiers, who is being held in the pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Rostov-on-Don, reported hearing loss and the need for surgery to remove an umbilical hernia. This was reported by Crimean Solidarity.
“Khalilayev cannot undergo surgery to remove the hernia while the judicial investigation is ongoing. He is currently being held in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Rostov-on-Don”, – said the report .
According to Khalilayev, he has already been examined by medical workers from the Russian Federal Security Service in the Rostov region, who have planned the surgery with him. His hearing loss is accompanied by a need for surgery to remove an umbilical hernia.
According to Khalilayev, he has already been examined by medical workers from the Russian Federal Security Service in the Rostov region, who planned the procedure with him. His hearing loss is accompanied by headaches, probably due to vascular problems or the use of a hearing aid.
The lawyer appointed to the case stated back in July that Khalilayev has a number of chronic illnesses, including otitis, cardiovascular disease, and a hernia. Despite this, the occupation “court” extended his detention until at least October 13.
The case began on March 5, 2024, after mass searches in the Bakhchisaray and Dzhankoy districts of Crimea. On the same day, activists Memet Lumanov, Aziz Azizov, Rustem Osmanov, and Mustafa Abduramanov were taken into custody. Residents of the Dzhankoy district—Ali Mamutov, Enver Khalilaev, Nariman Ametov, Imam Vokhid Mustafayev, and activist Arsen Kashka—were also detained.
They are all accused of participating in the activities of the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia. Among those involved are parents with many children and people with chronic illnesses. One of them, former mosque imam Remzi Kurtnezirov, is under house arrest due to his health condition.
