Crimean citizen sentenced to 2 years for desecration of symbols of military glory of the Russian Federation

The Supreme court of Crimea found Oleksandr Tiurenko guilty of desecrating symbols of the military glory of the Russian Federation. This is stated in the court decision.

A resident of Bakhchysarai was sentenced to 2 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of two years.

We remind you that on January 29, the Supreme court of Crimea began considering a case against a Crimean citizen who was accused of vandalism and desecration of symbols of military glory of the Russian Federation for urinating on an installation with the letters Z and V. It is known that listeners were not allowed to attend the first court hearing, the preliminary examination. The judge is Alla Khynevych, who is suspected of treason by a Ukrainian court. The accused, Oleksandr Tiurenko, is charged under Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Rehabilitation of Nazism), which is associated, in particular, with dissemination of information about days of military glory and memorable dates in Russia, expressing clear disrespect for society. He faced up to 8 years in prison for vandalism and desecration of monuments of military glory.
