Churches of the Russian Orthodox Church collect money for the war against Ukraine

Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov), head of the Crimean Metropoly of the Russian Orthodox Church, announced a crowdfunding campaign in support of participants of the Russian war against Ukraine.

“On the eve of the Bright Feast of the Nativity of Christ, from December 3 to December 24 of this year, in all churches and monasteries of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese, we conduct a campaign (crowdfunding for the purchase of Christmas gifts for military personnel in hospitals, in the area of the North Military District and in the defense of Crimea) “Christmas Gift for the Defender of the Fatherland”,- the message says.

In addition, the Metropolitan called on Sunday school students to write letters to the soldiers with Christmas greetings.

The information was confirmed by the head of the diocesan department of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese for interaction with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, Archpriest Dimitry (Krotkov).

“The action is underway. Everything is correct”,- he said.
