The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Budanov believes that ATACMS long-range missiles are powerful enough to destroy the Kerch bridge.
This was stated by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense in comments to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Occupied Crimea, which has been turned into a huge military base that controls most of Ukraine’s southern coast, can be cut off from resupply and brought back under Ukrainian control.
The head of military intelligence said he shared the view of former US army commander in Europe, General Ben Hodges, who argued that this would be the key to forcing Putin to defend himself.
Kyrylo Budanov recalled that Ukrainian-made Magura drones have already been used to destroy several Russian ships and force them to redeploy from Crimea.
“They are already trapped near the port of Novorossiysk. We just need to make sure that any remnants of the fleet are pushed back to the territory of the Russian Federation. There have been no warships left in the Black Sea for a long time,” – he emphasised.
Kyrylo Budanov calls the next step the cessation of all supplies to Russian troops in Crimea on Putin’s favourite project – the Kerch Bridge.
He believes that the long-range ATACMS missiles that Biden has finally delivered to Ukraine in recent months could eventually destroy the bridge.
He said those who argue that ATACMS are not powerful enough to do the job are wrong. In his opinion, the only question is their quantity.
We shall remind you that on Sunday, 23 June, Russian air defence systems in temporarily occupied Crimea shot down missiles aimed at military facilities over beaches where civilians were resting.
