The court fined the editor of the Crimean Tatar newspaper “Qirim” Bekir Mamutov 100 thousand rubles for “discrediting the army of the Russian Federation”.

This is reported by the human rights initiative “Crimean episode”.

Judge Yanina Okhota found him guilty of public actions aimed at discrediting the rf army for publishing an interview of a Crimean Tatar activist about mobilization in Crimea in 2022.

The listeners could not get to the hearing, as there are restrictions imposed on court attendance. This violates the principles of publicity and openness of court proceedings.

“Depriving civilians in the occupied territory of the right to a normal trial is a war crime. The Chairman of the Kyiv district court of Simferopol Andrey Dolgopolov and Judge Yanina Okhota replenish their personal folders of war crimes with another episode for the International Tribunal.” – reads in the message of the initiative.
