Political prisoner Asan Yanikov is being transferred from the pre-trial detention center of Novocherkassk to a prison in the Vladimir region. This was reported by his sister Fatima Yanikova to Crimean Solidarity.
“He was taken out of the pre-trial detention center in Novocherkassk on August 26 and is planned to be taken to a prison in the Vladimir region”,- said a relative of the political prisoner.
We remind you that on March 27, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea conducted mass searches in 26 houses of Crimean Tatars. Literature was confiscated from some activists, which, according to Crimean Solidarity, the security forces themselves planted. In addition to books and brochures, phones, tablets, laptops, and passports were confiscated from people. The security forces behaved rudely. They reportedly used physical force against the detainees. They entered the house in shoes. Lawyers who arrived at the place of the searches were not allowed to see their clients. According to the results, 20 people were detained, who are suspected of involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. On March 28, three more Crimean Tatar activists were detained, and searches were carried out in their homes in their absence. The whereabouts of another Crimean Tatar, Edem Yayachikov, remains unknown. On March 27-28, the occupation court arrested all 23 Crimean Tatar activists detained after searches. They chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention until May 15. All are accused of being members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation. In August, court hearings are held to extend the measure of restraint for the defendants in the second Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case. They are kept under arrest until November 14-15, 2019
On August 9, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol extended the detention of Akim Bekirov, Seytveli Seitabdiev and Asan Yanikov. On August 12, the Lenin District Court of Rostov-on-Don extended the arrest of Riza Izetov, Remzi Bekirov, Shaban Umerov and Ruslan Suleimanov, and the Kirov District Court of Rostov-on-Don extended the arrest of Osman Arifmemetov, Vladlen Abdulkadyrov, Servet Gaziev, Rustem Sheikhaliev , Farkhod Bazarov and Belyal Adilov. On August 13, the Tagansky District Court of the Rostov Region extended the detention of four more defendants in the second Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Seyran Murtaza, Mejit Abdurakhmanov, Enver Ametov and Rustem Seythalilov will remain in the pre-trial detention center until November 14, 2019. On August 13, the Shakhty City Court of the Rostov Region extended the detention until November 15 for Yashar Muedinov and Tofik Abdulgaziev.
