The Supreme Court of Crimea upheld Appaz Kurtametov’s sentence. This is reported by the Crimean Process.
The college of the Supreme court of Crimea declared inadmissible one of the evidence taken into account when considering the case in the court of first instance. However, she still did not see any grounds for annulment of the sentence or revision of the sentence. By decision of the meeting with the participation of judge Dmitry Mikhailov, the verdict was upheld.
We remind you that Appaz Kurtamet was accused of financing a terrorist organization under Art. 208 p. 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to investigators, he lent 500 hryvnias to his friend, who, as Appaz found out after making the money transfer, serves in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion.
On April 21, the Kyiv district court of Sevastopol announced the verdict for political prisoner Appaz Kurtamet. The invaders sentenced the man to 7 years in prison.
