On April 5, journalist Amet Suleymanov was taken into custody and placed in isolation, despite the fact that doctors ordered him to have a heart valve replacement surgery. It is reported by the Crimean solidarity.
On April 7, Suleymanov’s wife went to the detention center to hand over the necessary things to him, where she was told that he had been taken to the detention center in Simferopol.
“The employee came out, looked at the last name and said that Amet Suleimanov was not there. What else was taken to the pre-trial detention center in Simferopol in the morning”,- Lilia Lumanova reports.
They plan to transfer him to one of the Russian colonies.
Amet Suleymanov suffers from arterial and mitral insufficiency of the heart. He was scheduled for heart valve replacement surgery, and until 2015 he received systemic treatment in Kyiv due to disability, which, however, was later withdrawn due to refusal of surgery in Moscow.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center believes that the execution of this sentence is a deliberate Russian encroachment on the life of Amet Suleymanov, since his state of health and conditions in Russian prisons leave very little chance that he will survive his stay in places of captivity.
