Russian authorities said that a member of the “a member of Noman Chelebidzhikhan battalion” was allegedly detained in the Kherson region.
Employees of the department for investigation of “especially important cases of the Russian Investigative Committee’s Supreme Investigative Committee for Kherson region” have opened a criminal case against a 66-year-old resident of the village of Rykovo.
According to the statements of the investigation, since December 2015, the man was voluntarily in the “battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan”. He is accused of supplying food to the places of dislocation of the members of the formation, conducting agitation for the return of Crimea “by violent means” and blocking the passage of vehicles that delivered goods to Crimea.
According to information from open sources, the detainee is Bilyal Abdurakhmanov. A criminal case has been opened against him under part 2 of article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Participation in an illegal armed formation for purposes contrary to the interests of Russia”). He faces from 8 to 15 years of imprisonment.
