Eight years ago, on February 20, 2014, Russian aggression against Ukraine began with the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
For 84 days, since February 24, 2022, Ukraine and its people have resisted the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, accompanied by acts of genocide, unprecedented in their cruelty and war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
In the 21st century, a humanitarian catastrophe is taking place in the center of Europe, threatening to acquire forms and scales that could lead to the destruction of human civilization.
Barbarism, cruelty and savagery broke into Ukraine again at the command from Moscow, from where, in the 20th century, criminal orders were given to kill millions of Ukrainians because of the artificially organized Holodomor and the destruction of the Crimean Tatar people, expelling them from their homeland.
However, the criminal plans of the Russian Federation – the aggressor state, this time were destined for a shameful defeat.
Moreover, thanks to the heroic rebuff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Russian troops, the selfless defense of the Ukrainian people of their land, humanity has finally begun to realize that the crimes of genocide committed by states that previously remained unpunished have the property of returning with larger-scale upheavals and tragedies.
The unity of the international community in support of Ukraine and the provision of military assistance to repel Russian aggression gives us confidence that the Russian-Ukrainian war will end with the victory of Ukraine and the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including Crimea, the homeland of the Crimean Tatar people.
Participants of the International online rally in memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, carried out by the communist regime of the USSR on May 18, 1944:
