In this project, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center set the following goal – to promote the integration of local bodies of national self-government of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people – local Mejlises into the system of local self-government of the Kherson region.
We were able to achieve the following results:
• 24 members and activists of the local mejlises of the Crimean Tatars increased their competence in the field of local self-government in Ukraine;
• Decisions made at three public hearings will be considered at the next meeting of local councils;
• Representatives of the local Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people of Henichesk district submitted applications for consideration on their inclusion in the executive committee.
The project was carried out by a team of 5 people.
Within the framework of the project, 14 events were held. They included: 5 two-day seminars for members of the local Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people of Henichesk district, 5 seminars for local leaders “Community participation in local decision-making” (Strilkove village, Schastlyvtseve village, Rykove village, Novooleksiivka village, Henichesk), 3 public hearings (Rykove village, Novooleksiivka village, Strilkove village) and an expanded meeting of the Public Council at Henichesk district state administration (the city of Henichesk).
Two-day seminars for members of the local Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people of Henichesk district were held for a fixed group of 24 people. A total of 99 people attended the seminars for local leaders. 261 people took part in the public hearings, 50 people took part in the meeting of the Public Council. In total, 434 people took part in the events.
