This project is aimed at organizing a campaign to collect written, video and audio evidence of eyewitnesses of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 and transferring the collected material to the Prosecutor’s Office of the AR of Crimea to draw up the evidence base of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people.
The results of the implementation of this project were 215 testimonies of victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944, which were documented by an investigating judge and which formed the core of the evidence base for the investigation of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people. Also, based on the results of this project, it was possible to prepare a full-length documentary film “Witnesses of the 1944 Genocide” and its short version.
