In Aqmescit (Simferopol), a 33-year-old Kyrylo Barannyk is tortured and threatened to confess in blowing up a railway track. This is reported by the Graty media outlet.
According to Barannyk, the FSB officers beat him and tortured him with electricity, despite the fact that he admitted his guilt on May 30, when he was kidnapped and interrogated in the FSB department. The protocol of detention was drawn up only the next day after the confession, which was confirmed by Barannik’s mother. There are no records of Barannik’s arrest on the website of the court.
From June 5 to June 6, Barannyk was tortured with electricity for 3-4 hours, demanding to confess to blowing up the railway near the village of Chystenke. He did not admit to this, after which from June 9 to 10 he was tortured for 6 hours in the FSB detention center. Lawyer Oleksii Ladin reported burn marks on Barannyk’s fingers, as well as swelling and bruising around the ribs.
The prisoner wrote a statement with a request to check the actions of FSB officers unknown to him and bring them to justice.
