A meeting of the Public Council under the SEFC was held in Kiev

On Friday, February 3, a meeting of the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience was held in the office of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

During the meeting, the participants discussed a number of important issues. In particular, the members of the Public Council were introduced to the new head of the SEFC, Viktor Yelenskyy.

The members of the Council also discussed the draft Concept of the State Targeted National Cultural Program Unity in Diversity for the period up to 2034. Additions were considered on the topic of monuments of the cultural heritage of indigenous peoples in the Crimea.

During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of holding and participating in the Forum of National and Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine. The Public Council will actively participate in its organization.

The head of the SEFC Public Council, Eskender Bariiev, informed the members of the Council about the creation of a chat bot for IDPs from the CTRC, which will take into account the needs of national minorities and indigenous peoples.

“One of the goals of the chatbot is to preserve the identity of IDPs from indigenous peoples and national minorities who ended up in other cities. It was proposed to start cooperation with SEFC in collecting information for the chatbot and its further promotion,” said Eskender Bariiev.

The statement of the Public Council on the topic of the provocative burning of the Koran in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands was taken as a basis. The text of the statement refers to a request to prevent inter-religious strife. At the same time, it was noted that the occupants continue ethnic and religious persecution in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

It should be noted that SEFC continues to work on the implementation of the Law of Ukraine On the Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine.

In addition, the action plan of the Public Council for 2023 was discussed.
