A man was fined in occupied Crimea for reposting an interview with Volodymyr Zelensky

The occupation Kyiv district “court” of Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) has fined a Crimean man 45,000 rubles (20,829 UAH) for publishing an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media. This is reported by “Krym.Realii”.

“He was charged under the Russian “anti-war article”, which is used in Crimea to persecute people with pro-Ukrainian or anti-war views. But in this case, the Crimean was fined not for his own statements, but for the words of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky”, – stated in the message.

We will remind that in the Analysis of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea for 2024 Crimean Tatar Resource Center recorded 29 cases of fines, 13 of which were in relation to the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. The total amount of fines is 1,581,500 rubles (650,729 UAH).

The trend of unjustified fines in the occupied Crimea remains relevant. The occupation “authorities” are increasingly punishing the peninsula residents for any manifestation of dissent, and fines are issued even for absolutely meaningless reasons, such as reposting an interview or random statements on social networks.
