A ceremony was held in Poland to award representatives of the Crimean Tatar people the highest state awards

On Thursday, December 14, a ceremony was held in Poland to award representatives of the Crimean Tatar people for outstanding services in the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, the fight for the rights of ethnic minorities and support for independence movements in Eastern and Central Europe.

According to the Mission of the president of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the awards were presented by Polish President Andrzej Duda.

The leader of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Poland;

Deputy of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Poland;

Member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, editor of the newspaper Avdet Shevket Kaibullaiev and veteran of the Crimean Tatar national movement, political prisoner of the USSR, Sinaver Kadyrov, were awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Poland.
