Ukraine says a bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Dnieper will open the way to Crimea. This is stated by “The Guardian” with reference to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
The report states that Ukrainian marines are fortifying positions in three villages on the eastern bank of the river, using armored Humvees and at least one infantry fighting vehicle. Thus, they blocked the road that the Russian army used to replenish troops.
