Mechanisms of de-occupation of Crimea were discussed at the meeting of Mejlis members with representatives of diplomatic missions

On Tuesday, March 13, an annual meeting of members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people with representatives of diplomatic missions was held in Kiev. At the event, the parties discussed the questions of violation of human rights in Crimea and the extension of sanctions against Russia until the de-occupation of Crimea under the control of Ukraine. The leader of the Crimean Tatar people, MP Mustafa Dzhemilev stated in the comments to “Krym.Realii”

"The main goal is to speak about the problems of the indigenous people of Crimea under the conditions of occupation and international cooperation in this direction". All 15 representatives of the leading countries of the world spoke in unequivocal terms that sanctions would not be lifted from the country aggressor until the suspension of the occupation of  Crimea. Although we would like to hear that they will be increased. Other countries said that they will keep the situation in Crimea in the focus", – said Dzhemilev.

In the comments to QHA Refat Chubarov  noted that the initiative of Ukraine to create an informal association "Friends on de-occupation of Crimea" was also discussed  during the meeting

"Thus, with such an initiative, the President of Ukraine spoke at the UN General Assembly in December 2017" … "Moreover, we see that pressure on Russia gives  results. We pointed that we want to deepen sanctions, in particular, we were talking about the disconnection of Russia from the payment system SWIFT, the embargo on Russian energy resources, oil", – Chubarov said.

In turn, Pavel Klimkin, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, called for imposing sanctions on people involved in organizing the presidential elections in Russia.
