Former head of Alushta Mejlis Enver Arpatly became the deputy prime minister of Karachai-Cherkessia.
Eskender Bariiev, a member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the head of the CTRC, believes that Enver Arpatly can be prepared for the replacement of Sergey Aksenov as the head of Crimea. He stated this in his comment to “Krym.Realii”.
"Such an appointment is a kind of preparation of the pro-Russian politician to either head the occupied Crimea, or at least become the first deputy chairman of the occupation Council of Ministers. Approbation is in progress, this person is being prepared. Russia will benefit out of this to show tomorrow that the Crimean Tatar heads the ruling of Crimea", Bariiev said.
According to Bariiev, back in 2012, Enver Arpatly had great political ambitions and a desire to make a career in the structures of the national movement and organs.
"He became a delegate of the Kurultay, tried to run for membership in the Mejlis, but he was not supported, and he was not elected. He's energetic, one might say, harsh, very ambitious. As far as I know, he always pursued the goal of getting into power structures", – Bariiev says.
Reference on February 19, 2018 it became known that Enver Arpatly was appointed the deputy prime minister of Karachai-Cherkessia. As early as in 2014 during the occupation he was an active fighter for the Ukrainian Crimea. However, in June of the same year he was appointed deputy mayor of Alushta city.
