On Monday, February 19, the Simferopol regional “court” of Crimea extended the detention period to Ismail Ramazanov accused of spreading extremist statements through Zello’s Internet radio. He will remain in custody until March 18, 2018. This is reported on the website of “Krym.Realii”
The prosecution believes that because of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine, Ramazanov may abscond from the peninsula. However, according to the lawyer Aleksey Ladin, there is no evidence that Ramazanov can leave the peninsula.
In addition, the lawyer stated that the investigation violated the 10-day period for bringing charges against Ramazanov and his being in the detention center is illegal.
"I'm innocent, so I do not need to hide from the investigation, I'm not going anywhere." I live in Crimea, I live with elderly parents who need care, I'm not going to hide anywhere from the investigation, I will prove my innocence, "Ramazanov told the court, reported "Krym.Realii".
