The consideration of Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” began in Rostov-on-Don

On Wednesday, February 14, the first court hearing of Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” took place in the North Caucasus Military District Court of Russia,-reports “Krym. Realii” with the reference to a correspondent of Radio Liberty.

According to the website part of the lawyers participated in the meeting via video conferencing  from  Simferopol Garrison Court of  Crimea. The relatives of the accused and journalists also came to the "court" in Simferopol, but they were removed from the courtroom with the explanation that the trial is open, but only in Rostov-on-Don, where the judge recommended to come all interested.

During the trial, none of the six defendants pleaded guilty, some noted that they do not understand what they are being accused of.

The next meeting will be held on February 15. It is planned to question the prosecution witnesses.

On December 5, 2017 the figurants of  Yalta Hizb ut-Tahrir case – Emir-Huseyn Kuku, Vadim Siruk, Muslim Aliev, Enver Bekirov, Arsen Dzepparov, Refat Alimov – were illegally transfered to Rostov-on-Don via Krasnodar.

Earlier, the  Rostov-on-Don District Military Court at   Simferopol  court hearing extended the detention period  to the figurants of Yalta "Hizb ut-Tahrir case" until May 27, 2018.
The above-mentioned political prisoners are accused of involvement in the activities of the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir", banned on the territory of the Russian Federation. They are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("organization of activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it"). In January this year, they began to impute  them the art. 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power").
