On Wednesday, February 14, the Supreme “Court” of Crimea rejected 10 appeals against fines imposed on participants of single pickets. Rustem Umerov, Marlen Mustafaev, Ravshan Naneishvili, Rustem Emiruseinov, Emir-Usein Eldar, Sabri Muratov, Rustem Suleimanov, Medzhit Abdurakhmanov, A. Adzhigafarov and A. Ablyatipov will have to to pay fines of 10 thousand rubles. This is reported by the “Crimean solidarity”.

October 14, representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people took part in one-man protests in different cities of Crimea. They urged the Russian authorities of the peninsula to stop repressions against the Crimean Tatars. More than 30 people were subjected to illegal detention then. Being fingerprinted, photographed, giving testimony and being deprived of posters all the detainees were released.
On December 18-19, the occupation courts in Crimea fined more than 70 Crimean Tatar activists for single picketsheld on October 14. Everyone was charged with Part 5 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia ("Violation of … the procedure for holding … picketing").
According to the monitoring performed by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, in 2017 the Crimean occupation courts illegally fined about 104 people, mostly Crimean Tatars, a total of more than 5 million rubles.
