On Saturday, February 10, at the office of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a meeting was held with representatives of the International Liberal Center SILC and a deputy of the Swedish Municipality from the Liberal Party. During the meeting the prospects for cooperation between the CTRC and the Swedish international liberal center in the direction of expanding the “Circle of friends of Crimea, Crimean Tatars and Ukraine”, the launch of the international campaign “#LIBERATECRIMEA” to mark the 4th year of resistance to Crimea’s occupation and establishing contacts between the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the Sami Parliament in Sweden, were discussed.
The representatives of the CTRC informed the guests about the situation with violation of human rights in the occupied Crimea, the repression against the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, the ban of the representative body – the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, pressure on lawyers and streamers, political prisoners and so-called trials which are conducted with gross violation.During the meeting the prospects for cooperation between the CTRC and the Swedish international liberal center in the direction of expanding the "Circle of friends of Crimea, Crimean Tatars and Ukraine", the launch of the international campaign "#LIBERATECRIMEA" to mark the 4th year of resistance to Crimea's occupation and establishing contacts between the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the Sami Parliament in Sweden, were discussed. The Swedish International Liberal Center SILC is a non-profit organization that supports the activism of democracy.
