Timur Ibragimov was detained after mass searches in the houses of representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people on October 11, 2017 in Bakhchisaray. Together with him, the security officers detained Memet Belyalov, Marlen Asanov, Ernest Ametov, Seyran Saliev and Server Zekeryaev. They were accused of involvement in prohibited in Russia organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir".
