On Wednesday, November 23, the European Parliament recognized the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism and called for its international isolation. The corresponding resolution was supported by 494 MP, 58 against, 44 abstained.
The European Parliament said that Russian military strikes on civilian targets such as energy infrastructure, hospitals, schools and shelters violate international law.
MEPs called on the EU Council to include in the list of individuals, groups and organizations involved in terrorist activities the so-called Wagner Group and the 141st Specialized Motorized Regiment, known as the Kadyrovites, as well as other Russian-funded armed groups.
