Since 2014, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has recorded 21 detentions on charges of participation in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion: 6 in the occupied Crimea, 15 in the occupied Kherson region after February 24, 2022.
In the occupied Crimea the following people were detained:
Fevzi Sahandzhi (verdict – January 23, 2019)
Diliaver Hafarov (verdict – August 28, 2019)
Edem Kadyrov (verdict – May 31, 2019)
Aidyn Mamutov (verdict – April 22, 2019)
Nariman Mezhmedynov (verdict – June 20, 2020)
Medzhyt Abliamitov (verdict – March 24, 2021)
During the period of a full-scale war in Ukraine, we recorded 15 arrests of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in the territory of the occupied Kherson region:
On March 4, a resident of the village of Rykove, Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Nasrulla Seidaliiev was arrested
On March 31, Rustem Huhuryk, a resident of Novooleksiivka, was arrested
On April 9, a resident of Kherson was arrested in the village of Kalanchak, his name is Arsen Ibraimov
On April 11, Artur Mametshaiev, a resident of Henichesk, was arrested
On April 14, Crimean Tatar Rustem Osmanov was arrested
On May 20, Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, a resident of the village of Azovske, was arrested
On May 25, a resident of the village of Partyzanske of the Henichesk District, his name is Aider Umerov
On June 5, a resident of the Kherson region Memet Dovhopolov was arrested
On June 18, a resident of the village of Novooleksiivka, Kherson region, Kostiantyn Tereshchenko
On July 21, a resident of the village of Salkove of the Henichesk district Ihor Khalilov
On July 22, Oleksii Kyseliov, a resident of Henichesk, was arrested
In July, a resident of Novooleksiivka Serhii Hudym was arrested
On August 12, a resident of Henichesk, Crimean Tatar Akim Hafarov was arrested
In August, two residents of the Kherson region, Crimean Tatars Khalil Ametov and Mamed Mustafaiev, were arrested.
All these people are accused of participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion.
Moreover, four Crimean Tatars who were detained after the start of a full-scale war have already received sentences:
Rustem Osmanov was sentenced to 6 years in prison
Ruslan Abdurakhmanov sentenced to 5 years in prison
Aider Umerov sentenced to 5 years in prison
Arsen Ibraimov sentenced to 10 years in prison
We remind you that on June 1, the Supreme Court of Russia satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office for the recognition of the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion as a terrorist organization and the prohibition of its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
