The occupants sentenced a Crimean to 6 years in prison on charges of participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion

On Friday, August 19, the so-called Bilohirsk district court of the occupied Crimea passed a sentence to a Crimean who was accused of participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion. This was reported by the Russian news agency TASS.

“A verdict was passed against a resident of the Republic of Crimea, born in 1996, who was detained for participating in the activities of the illegal armed formation Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion (recognized as a terrorist organization in the Russian Federation), acting on the territory of a foreign state for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation, the defendant was found guilty and he was sentenced to six years of incarceration with one year in prison, five years in a strict regime colony”,- the statement said.

It is noted that the man was detained in April 2022 while trying to enter Crimea at the Armiansk automobile checkpoint, controlled by Russian security forces.
