Odesa environmentalist Ivan Rusev said that due to the actions of the Russian military in the Crimea, several tens of thousands of dolphins died.

“An analysis of the available data collected by us during the three months of the war on the coast of our national park, as well as based on fresh open publications from Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and based on personal messages from my foreign friends and colleagues, suggests that due to the cruel and the crazy war of Russians in the Black Sea from the beginning of the war to the present, several thousand dolphins have already died”,- he wrote.

Ivan Rusev's colleague from Bulgaria, Atanas Rusev, said that several exhausted dolphins were found in the sea near the mouth of the Ropotamo River, some of them had burns from bomb or mine explosions, could not navigate, and therefore search for food.

“According to the experts who examined them, the animals did not eat for at least 10 days. Those who were not burned received internal injuries. Such injured or dead dolphins are washed up on the coasts of Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and on the shores of Ukraine”,- the report said.

Moreover, dead dolphins are also found within the Tuzla Lyman National Natural Park in the Odesa region.
