Ireland recognized Russia’s actions in Ukraine as genocide

June 2, 2022

On Thursday, June 2, the Irish Senate passed a resolution declaring the Russian invasion of Ukraine an act of genocide. This was announced by the head of the upper house of the Parliament of Ireland, Mark Daley.

The illegal invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine is an act of genocide. The Senate of Ireland adopted a resolution on the genocide of Russia in Ukraine.

We remind you that earlier the CTRC launched the information campaign Impunity breeds lawlessness, within the framework of which parallels were drawn between the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 and the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine in 2022.

The CTRC notes that the world did not condemn the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 and this impunity gave rise to new crimes. Now the Russian Federation is carrying out the genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Therefore, we emphasize that the genocide of 1944 must be condemned by the whole world, just like the genocide of the Ukrainian people in 2022!

The CTRC team expresses its sincere gratitude to the Senate of Ireland for the solidarity and support of the entire Ukrainian people.
