On Wednesday, May 18, Crimean Tatars temporarily residing in Antalya organized an event dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people. More than 150 people paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people.

The event was joined by Consul General of Ukraine in Antalya Emir Rustamov, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Antalya, human rights activists, activists and journalists, as well as online speeches by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Dzheppar and MP of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
Haji Bekir Murtazaev, who personally survived the deportation in 1944, also addressed the audience. He shared his story, which he had to go through and recounted his memories of this event in the early morning of May 18, 1944.
During the event, a video was shown about the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people through the eyes of eyewitnesses.
