First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar, during her speech at the side event at the 21st session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Peoples, emphasized that representatives of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine are fighting for the independence of our country in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.

She noted that the policy of the Russian Federation in the occupied Crimea is aimed at the destruction of indigenous peoples. Now Russia is doing it all over Ukraine.

“Ukraine is now fighting not only for its independence, but for the whole world. Therefore, the world must do everything possible to stop the war against my homeland so that Russia cannot wipe out the culture and history of our peoples living on the territory of Ukraine”,- Dzheppar stressed.

We remind you that on May 5, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN held a side event within the framework of the 21st session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Peoples on the topic: Russian Military Aggression against Ukraine: Impact on Indigenous Peoples.
