From a dozen and a half elders of the Henichesk district, 5 went to cooperate with the occupiers – Bariiev

Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, head of the department of legal affairs and foreign affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Radio Liberty, said that in the Henichesk district. Russian military persuade local officials to cooperate, but continue to meet resistance.

“The situation in the Henichesk district remains difficult.  On the part of the occupiers, there is an attempt to take control of power, and there are also collaborators who cooperate with the occupying authorities.  Including, these are representatives of the deputy corps.  They "appointed" an "acting administration" of the Henichesk district, Klochko became it’s head.  On the other hand, there is a positive moment that out of a dozen and a half elders of the Henichesk district, only 5 decided to collaborate”,- Bariiev said.

 According to him, there are also "appointed" so-called "heads" of different departments.  In addition, the occupiers are trying to gather representatives of education and culture for a "general meeting", but also to no avail.  Also, the Russian military continue the practice of kidnapping and intimidating people.
