The so-called Kyiv district court of Simferopol in the occupied Crimea arrested Crimean Rustem Huhurik for two months on suspicion of participation in the Noman Çelebicihan volunteer battalion. This was reported by the press service of the Representation of the President of Ukraine in Crimea.
“During the hearing of the case, listeners were not allowed to the courthouse, once again referring to restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. These actions of the occupation authorities are yet another act of human rights violation and persecution of citizens of Ukraine, including with the aim of suppressing any resistance and ousting representatives of the Crimean Tatar people from the peninsula”,- the statement said.
At the same time, the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea believes that the illegal actions of the occupation administration of Russia against the citizen of Ukraine Rustem Huhurik are connected exclusively with his active participation in the life of the Crimean Tatar people, the protection of their rights and territorial integrity.
