March 22, 2022

The occupants continue their repressions. On Tuesday, March 22, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to the defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case.

The occupants sentenced:

Tymur Yalkabov to 17 years in colony with the first 4 years in prison.

Lenur Seidametov to 13 years in colony with the first 4 years in prison.

It should be noted that the accusations in this so-called case are based on the testimony of hidden witnesses and the conclusion of so-called experts actively cooperating with the Russian security forces.  Consideration of the so-called case took place with a gross violation of international law.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center strongly protests and states that this decision is illegal, politically motivated and criminal.  This policy of the Russian Federation is a demonstration of the fight against the political beliefs of people in the occupied Crimea.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center demands the sentences of the defendants in the so-called case to be canceled and to release other political prisoners immediately.
