On Tuesday, February 1, MPs of the Verkhovna Rada and the Ukrainian Truth media agency held a rally 121. Crimean political prisoners. Dozens of MPs put on T-shirts with the names of Crimeans imprisoned because of their civic position.
According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, exactly 121 people are behind bars in the occupied Crimea and on the territory of the Russian Federation. Every political prisoner needs help and support. That is why the International Movement for the De-occupation of Crimea and Solidarity with the Crimean Tatar People #LIBERATECRIMEA and the Crimean Tatar Resource Center previously launched the campaign MP, Help the Prisoners of the Kremlin!, within the framework of which they called on Ukrainian MPs to take patronage over the Crimeans who were arrested.
Our campaign has already been joined by an MP from the faction European Solidarity – Yana Zinkevych, an MP from the faction Voice – Solomiia Bobrovska, an MP from the faction"European Solidarity – Volodymyr Ar’iev, two deputies of the Vinnytsia District Council – Natalia Kravchuk and Viktor Shmyhel, as well as a deputy of the Vinnytsia City Council – Olena Verlan-Kulshenko Elena.
We are grateful to every MP who today joined the action 121. Crimean Political Prisoners and who previously decided to take patronage within the framework of the campaign MP, Help Prisoners of the Kremlin!
We call on all Ukrainian representatives at various levels to help our citizens who have been arrested or persecuted by the Russian occupiers. Read more about the campaign here.
