CTRC released new diplomats of the Crimean Tatar people

On Saturday, November 6, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine held the final 6th session of the V Academy of Public Diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars. As part of the last session, the students of the Academy continued to work on the development of posters, and also in practice consolidated the peculiarities of preparing public speeches.

Eskender Bariiev, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, continued to work with the activists to prepare public speeches. The coach analyzed the video presentations prepared in advance by the participants and shared tips to help young people improve their public speaking skills.

Bariiev also invited activists in groups to work on the development of new campaigns and messages, which in the future will be implemented / used within the framework of the international movement #LIBERATECRIMEA.

Borys Babin, Doctor of Law, Professor, Expert of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center spoke about the international mechanisms for the protection of human rights, about the impact of international organizations on the participating states (political, legal and imperative). The speaker drew the activists' attention to the UN resolutions, their features, implementation and prospects. The professor also analyzed the use of international mechanisms in the context of human rights protection in Crimea using the example of the activities of the UN and ECHR committees.

Andrii Yermolenko, a Ukrainian artist, cartoonist, continued with the participants of the Academy to work on the development of creative posters as part of the non-violent struggle for the return of Crimea, the release of political prisoners and the observance of human rights on the peninsula. The trainer, together with the activists, worked out a number of sketches of posters, which in the future will be presented via the website of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

At the end of the session, Eskender Bariiev thanked all the participants of the V Academy of Public Diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars for their joint work and expressed hope that the implementation of the ideas developed within the Academy would contribute to the early release of political prisoners in Crimea.
