Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, head of the Department of Legal and Foreign Affairs of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Eskender Bariiev in an interview with the Crimea.Realities media agency said that the occupants are trying to completely discredit the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, so that later they can blind the mechanisms of government that are convenient for them.
Bariiev noted that the occupants began to take actions to completely eradicate the very concept of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in the minds of people. The Russian authorities are trying to intimidate people, so that later, from a blank slate, they can mold the representative mechanisms of people that are convenient for them.
“We must understand what the future prospects will be, because a new generation is growing in completely different conditions. We must be ready for these processes and build our own action plan, one of the important components of which is the preservation of the subjectivity of the representative bodies of indigenous peoples, in particular the Kurultai and the Mejlis, as well as their recognition at all levels, and primarily at the international level”,- he added.
