During the occupation of Crimea, 230 persons prosecuted in criminal cases were recorded – CTRC

To date, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, during the occupation of Crimea, 230 political prisoners and prosecuted in criminal cases have been recorded, 162 of whom are the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. We remind that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has classified and developed clickable diagrams "Victims of the occupation of Crimea", which are permanently available via the organization's website in 4 languages and display the current number of political prisoners, missing and dead people during the occupation of Crimea.

Today, according to the CTRC, the number of political prisoners and persecuted by the occupation authorities is 230 people, 162 of them are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category consists of 5 components, depending on the status of the persecuted:

– Sentenced and serving terms in colonies (63, 40 of them are Crimean Tatars);

– have restrictions or on  probation (34, 19 of them are Crimean Tatars);

– in detention facilities  (52, 42  of them are Crimean Tatars );

– released (49, 32  of them are Crimean Tatars );

– persecuted (32, 26  of them are Crimean Tatars).

According to the CTRC, today there are 57 killed during the occupation of Crimea, 27 of whom are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category consists of the following individuals:

– Victims of political repressions (2  are Crimean Tatars);

– Victims of discrimination ( 13, 11 of them are Crimean Tatars);

– Victims of terror (30,  8 of them are Crimean Tatars);

– Victims of police abuse ( 12, 6 of them are Crimean Tatars ).

The third category of the electronic database of the CTRC displays the actual number of victims of enforced disappearances during the occupation of Crimea. In total, according to the organization, there are 21 such people, 15 of them are the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. This category is divided into those who are wanted (9 people, all are Crimean Tatars) and those who are not wanted (12 people, 6 of them are Crimean Tatars).
