Women of Crimea – Victims of the Occupation

On Friday, September 3 at 13:00, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center will hold a press conference on the topic: Crimean Women – Victims of the Occupation, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

After the occupation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, hundreds of activists were persecuted for their civic stance. At first, there were only men. However, the Russian authorities did not stop and began to restrict the rights of the female half of the peninsula's population.
