In Henichesk (Kherson region), the work of the International Summer Camp “Freedom Camp” continues. Participants of the event from different parts of Ukraine are working on ideas for non-violent resistance to the occupation of Crimea.
Iliia Kusa, an expert on international politics at the think tank "Ukrainian Institute for the Future" told the participants about the specifics of global politics and world order. After the theoretical part, the 'Freedom Camp" participants played a game of developing negotiation skills.
The expert also gave a lecture on the topic The Arab Spring 10 Years Later: What Have We Learned. The coach introduced the participants to the role of global players in the Middle East – the United States, the European Union, China and Russia, and also spoke about the peculiarities, causes and consequences of the wars that are taking place in the Middle East with a special emphasis on the social structure of the region.
Svitlana Andrushchenko, Doctor of Science, Associate Professor of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, gave a lecture to the activists of the "Freedom Camp" on the topic Ukraine in world politics. The participants analyzed the main trends and features of the position of our state in the world arena.
Yaryna Viyhenska, art director of the creative agency "Nudge", told the activists about the creative ideas that managed to provoke positive changes. Also, the trainer, having familiarized the participants with the rules for developing creative campaigns, suggested developing their own solutions to counter human rights violations in Crimea.
As part of familiarizing the participants with the culture of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, a concert was organized where everyone could enjoy the national dances and songs of the people. We also do not forget about gastronomic diplomacy. All participants get acquainted with the dishes of the Crimean Tatars: chebureks, manty, yantyks, khanum, lahman.
During the evening programs, screenings and discussions of the documentary films "Crimea. Dehydration" took place.
