New legislation on the Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine: international standards and foreign experience

On Monday, August 9, at 16:00, on the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, an expert discussion on the topic: “New legislation on the Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine: international standards and foreign experience” will be held online.

During the event, the processes of adoption of the law on indigenous peoples in independent Ukraine and the role of the participation of indigenous peoples of Ukraine in the development of relevant international standards will be discussed.

The new Law of Ukraine "On indigenous peoples of Ukraine" will be compared with international standards and experience in protecting the rights of indigenous peoples in civilized countries.

The reaction of other states to the adoption of this law, as well as the prospects of organizational, personnel and material and financial ways to implement the new legislation will be discussed.
