On Tuesday, August 10, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine launched the International Summer Camp “Freedom Camp”. The event, which takes place in the village of Strilkove, Henichesk district, Kherson region, is attended by activists from different parts of Ukraine. The goal of the camp is to unite activists, exchange experience, obtain information about liberal values, communication technologies, image, international public actions, methods of nonviolent resistance, etc., as well as the formation of new creative ideas in the context of the liberation of Crimea.

As part of the camp, which will last until August 20, coaches from Ukraine and Europe will tell the participants about the occupation of Crimea and human rights violations on the peninsula, the role of non-violence in gaining freedom and creating democracy, about liberation movements in a historical context, strategies of activism, human rights and sustainability, the role of visual language and design in international information campaigns.

Also, the film screenings on national liberation movements all over the world are planned. Workshops and lectures will alternate with role play and beach sports.

As Eskender Bariiev, one of the organizers of the event, noted, the combination of lectures, group work, role-playing games, sports events and seaside recreation is an effective mechanism for the formation of new creative ideas.
