On Friday, June 18, in the occupied Crimea, an emergency regime was introduced in Yalta due to a large amount of precipitation. This was announced by the so-called head of the Yalta administration Yanina Pavlenko via her Facebook page.
“I am forced to inform you that an emergency regime is being introduced in Yalta. The amount of precipitation that fell in 11 hours exceeded 90 mm. The rivers overflowed their banks, the central part of the city is flooded. In the Oktiabr district, the entrance to the city was closed, so that there are no traffic jams on the highway, to clear mudflows that descend in different places. We sent there, together with the road traffic service and large construction companies, equipment to clear roads”,- she said.
Pavlenko stressed that at the moment the entrance to the city is completely closed, as the uncontrolled flow of water washes away cars and people.
