G7 countries urged the Russian Federation to reduce tensions in the occupied Crimea

The G7 Foreign Ministers (UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States) reaffirm their unwavering support and commitment to Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. In addition, the countries called on the Russian Federation to withdraw Russian troops and equipment from the occupied Crimea.

“We reaffirm our support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. We call on Russia to reduce tensions and act in accordance with its international obligations and withdraw Russian troops and militay equipment stationed on the eastern border of Ukraine and on the Crimean peninsula”,- the statement said.

The President of Ukraine thanked the G7 countries for their continued support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and for calling on the aggressor to withdraw troops from our eastern borders and from Crimea.
