On Monday, June 7, during the presentation of the interim results and dynamics of the campaign MP, help the prisoners of the Kremlin!, the wife of political prisoner Rustem Emiruseinov Aliie Emiruseinova said that the occupants are trying to silence the entire Crimean Tatar people. She emphasized that not criminals, but peaceful people are under the shadow of repression in Crimea.

“Since 2014, when our people began to be persecuted and repressed, Rustem was the one who did not stand aside. He attended the courts, went out with solitary pickets. He considered it his own duty to support all those who were groundlessly accused and arrested. Literally a week before his arrest, returning from the city of Rostov-on-Don, where at that time a case was being considered on the merits of the so-called first Simferopol group, he was already planning his next trip there. But this was not destined to happen, because on February 14, 2019, he himself was arrested”,- she said.
The wife of political prisoner, noted that until now, at the trial, not a single proof of her husband's involvement in terrorist activities had been provided. The arguments referred to by the prosecution and which formed the basis of the verdict in the so-called terrorism case are not weapons or explosives, not planning violent actions, not seizing power or overthrowing the constitutional order.
“The arguments that formed the basis of the sentence of 17 years of imprisonment are only conversations and discussions on religious and socio-political topics. Unfortunately, it is precisely so absurd and at the same time absolutely groundless and these false accusations, that are a lie, lead to unthinkable terms of imprisonment for such cases, for the so-called terrorism”,-she stressed.
Emiruseinov's wife believes that the occupants are trying to silence the Crimean Tatar people and come to terms with all the arbitrariness, but on the other hand, “we see dozens and dozens of people at the houses, in support of the families where searches are taking place. Hundreds and hundreds of those who are not indifferent at the court buildings. Overall, the consolidation and colossal solidarity of the people both with the political prisoners themselves and with their loved ones is very visible. The strategy of intimidating the people has shown its ineffectiveness”,- said Aliie.
“The disagreement of the society with these groundless persecutions and false labels is clear evidence that the authorities are not persecuting terrorists! Today, not criminals, but peaceful people are under the shadow of repression in Crimea,- the Crimean Tatars”,- Aliie summed up.
In order to stop these repressions, we call on Ukrainian parliamentarians to take patronage over the Crimeans who were arrested or persecuted by the Russian occupants.
