The so-called court of the occupied Crimea sentenced a Ukrainian for creating an extremist community

The so-called Yevpatoriia City Court of the occupied Crimea sentenced a citizen of Ukraine to a term of 1 year, with serving a sentence in a general regime correctional colony for creating an extremist community. This was reported by the press service of the department.

“It was established that in 2018, a citizen of Ukraine D created a group on a social network, developed a charter, structure, symbols of the extremist community in order to return the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol to the jurisdiction of Ukraine, actively recruited its members from among the inhabitants of the Crimean Peninsula, called for illegal actions. When visiting the Republic of Crimea in 2020, D was identified and detained by FSB officers who already knew about his criminal activities”,- the message said.

It is noted that citizen D fully admitted his guilt, repented of his deed, while explaining that he had committed the crime under the influence of a group of Ukrainian students with radical nationalist convictions.

The man was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 1 year, with serving the sentence in a general regime correctional colony, with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of sites, communities (groups in social networks) using electronic and information and telecommunication networks, including Internet, for a period of 1 year.
