The Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN called on the international community to honor the memory of the numerous innocent victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as to condemn Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and new repressions against the Crimean Tatars. This was reported by the press service of the department via Facebook.
“The tragedy of the Crimean Tatar people repeated itself in 2014 with the illegal occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula by Russian occupation forces. Thousands of Crimean Tatars were again forced to leave their homes and move to mainland Ukraine. That is why the problem of Crimean Tatars remains on the UN agenda”,- the message said.
The Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN called on the international community to:
to honor the memory of the numerous innocent victims of the Stalinist deportation of the Crimean Tatar people;
to condemn Russia's aggression against Ukraine and new repressions against the Crimean Tatars;
call on Russia to stop violating the fundamental principles of international law and to fulfill the demands of the international community regarding the de-occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
